Emerson once said, “We ascribe beauty to that which is simple” and that completely sums up the no.2 watch by TID, it is a beautiful watch that does nothing more and nothing less than what it must do and that is to tell the time and look sophisticated doing it.
TID, consider time to be currency in most people’s lives and as a result meticulously craft timepieces to track our most precious commodity. However, what sets them apart from their competitors, is not only the users ability to customize their watches including the face style, size and type of wristband but also that TID act as a canvas for artists, thinkers, writers, and visualizers to conduct creative research on the subject of time. Their exploring time concept, highlights new artist talent with photography and conceptual art that features their watches.
With an unmatched obsession over materials and details, their no.2 watch features domed crystal sapphire glass in a monochromatic brushed steel case. Available in both 36mm or 40mm watch face sizing, the Ronda 763 Swiss quartz movement powers the watch with the cherry on top being the 10ATM water resistance.
While the no.2 watch can come with either a leather or nylon band, we think the real star of our variant was the beautiful twain wristband. Made from beautiful revived twain, the textile is provided by Danish manufacturer Kvadrat and is sourced out of post-consumer PET bottles combined with a backside of Swedish leather from the organic tannery, Tärnsjö Garveri. Our lake twain version was a beautiful black that completely complimented the steel aesthetic and looks very modern and exudes class, which we really appreciated.
After wearing the watch exclusively these past few weeks, there is something reassuring about wearing a watch that is well made and does what it was made to do and nothing else. Before Bluetooth, fitness tracking and Apple pay, watches were a sign of sophistication and the folks at TID have done a great job bringing that back with their no.2 timepiece.
