The premise behind this device is very simple – it makes it easy for users to incorporate heart rate, blood oxygen, and pulse wave velocity monitoring into your everyday routine. Measurement history is synced wirelessly to your smartphone — helping you organize your health data, track and improve your health trends, and achieve your health goals.

Made of medical-grade stainless steel and has a battery that only needs charging twice a week, it works when users rest their thumbs on the thumb pads for a quick 25-second scan. During this time, it measures your Pulse Wave Velocity which is the speed at which blood travels through the vessels, an important indicator of your cardiovascular health. It does this using the in-built state of the art EKG and PPG sensors. Data is the contextualized using the MOCA Index a reading on a simple 1-5 scale (5 being the highest) that reflects your PWV, correlated to blood pressure and vascular status; this gives uses a clearer understanding of whether your PWV is in a healthy range. Combined with heart rate and SpO2 measurements provided by MOCAheart, you’ll receive a holistic view of your heart health.

This data is synced via Bluetooth using the proprietary app for both iPhone and Android devices. A big advantage of collecting and storing this data is the ability to privately share information including photos and audio with medical professionals using the HIPAA-compliant messaging platform, which is very forward thinking and the way this technology is heading. One thing we really liked about the app besides its intuitiveness was what the company calls the – Trends tab, a simple overview of your health that makes it easy to determine whether or not the lifestyle changes you’re making is improving your heart health in the long run.
