Shoes that can be worn casually with cargo shorts on the weekend and yet still can be rocked at night with a pair of jeans. People Footwear’s new Waldo Knit shoe has got you covered this season.
Vancouver natives People Footwear, are looking to disrupt the footwear market through innovation with their signature lightweight design and focus on comfort. With everything from sneakers to sandals to boots, there is a style that can suit everyone’s needs. After reviewing their Jasper boot this past Winter and it being one of the top Winter boots we have ever worn, we thought it was time to see what else they can offer their consumers and it turns out they have struck gold twice with the Waldo Knit.
The shoe features a unique one piece digitally knit upper with a super comfy memory foam foot bed making this the perfect shoe when you are on your feet for extended periods of time. There is also a sturdy shock-absorbing Skylite™ EVA outsole and durable rubber heel pod with the cherry on top being the Rubber-dipped lace tips which look surprisingly good.
One thing we loved about the Waldo Knit is that the style is obviously inspired by current trends in casual performance footwear. Similar in design to the Nike Free, the shoe is super lightweight and really feels like you are wearing nothing on your feet. The irony being how comfortable the foot bed is, when we think memory foam – we think dense and heavy, but this is the perfect mix between not too spongy and not too firm, it’s air light and really hits that sweet spot in this area. Our only minor criticism of the Waldo Knit would be the sizing, our usual size 12 go to was about half a size too large, so size down a little on these ones.
Best of all is that the Waldo Knit retails for the very reasonable price of just $100 and is available in some great color variants that are sure to suit everyone’s palette.
