There is nothing I hate more than the weekly routine of household chores. There are just so many more things I would rather do, however, I also do not like living in my own mess so when I stumbled across the S7 by Roborock, I knew I had to have it. Like Gollum coveting his ‘precious’, I became obsessed with the idea of automating my cleaning routine and while automatic vacuums have been around for some time, the S7 was one of the first to offer vacuuming and sonic mopping as well!
The team at Roborock specializes in the research, development, and production of robotic home cleaners and other cleaning appliances. It develops and produces robot vacuums under its Roborock brand, as well as creating robot vacuums for one of China’s largest technology companies, Xiaomi. Each robot it builds is designed to fulfill a singular purpose: To give people more time to spend on the things they love.

Unveiled for the first time at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) the Roborock S7 is an advanced robot vacuum that features one of the fastest sonic2 mops on the market with an intelligent automatic lift for a powerful, seamless cleaning experience. Designed to transition smoothly over various surfaces, the s7 simplifies the robotic vacuum and mop experience to deliver a more effective cleaning session without interruption.
As the spiritual successor to the S6 max, the S7 features an upgraded and more powerful suction motor (2500PA) plus an all-rubber main brush (to resist hair tangles). However, the biggest new feature is their new and improved “sonic scrubbing” mop built into the device which vibrates the mop pad at up to 3,000 cycles per minute, meaning it can tackle surface dirt with ease and even break up the toughest, dried-on messes – leaving floors cleaner than ever.

Originally, we thought the idea of a vacuum and mop built into one machine was a recipe for some soggy carpets but boy oh boy were we wrong, the S7 auto-detects carpet and lifts the mopping pad to 5mm so that it can both mop and vacuum at the same time. It even will intensify the suction power when navigating over the carpet to get deep into the pile, which we love, and it works incredibly well.]
The S7 uses LiDAR navigation to create detailed maps of your home and identifies your room(s). It is not foolproof but can identify what areas/obstacles to avoid. We appreciate that the device itself is also quite self-sufficient with its 470 ml dustbin that stores day-after-day of dust plus the additional 300 ml water tank that can deep clean up to 200 sqm (2150 sq ft) in one session. Powering everything is a 5200mAh Li-ion battery that surges on for up to 3-hours on a single charge.

Lastly, the mop pad and vacuum filter are both permanent and washable and the versatile Roborock app comes with handy reminders when the machine needs cleaning. The cherry on top being the ability to schedule cleaning and even block areas you do not want the S7 to go.
To conclude, the S7 by Roborock rightfully got a lot of peoples’ attention at CES we called it the best product there this year, and for good reason. This is a device that everyone needs in their home if you want to make more time to do the things you love and for that reason, it gets our highest recommendation.
