It is hard to imagine in this tiny little unit that there could be a high-powered amplifier with a custom 3D Acoustic Enclosure and two high-end Yamaha drivers, but there is. Sound is usually a low point with mini projectors but this one does not disappoint. Featuring a custom-designed audiophile speaker system built on Yamaha’s latest AudioEngine™ DSP technology, the EF12 can produce an impressive, wide sound stage that rivals dedicated higher-end audio systems and soundbars. It is the perfect companion to the superb pictures on the screen and we love it.

Lastly, is the inclusion of Chromecast which means you can stream content and photos directly from your smartphone, and Epson’s standard 2-year limited warranty, full-unit replacement, along with free technical phone support for the life of the product is a reassuring way to guarantee a worthwhile home cinema experience without the hassle. Our only wish would be for the price to be a little more reasonable at over $1000, however, you do get what you pay for and this one offers a lot.
