There is something special when a company manages to capture lightning in a bottle and can pair new technology with old world craftsmanship and materials. With a focus on great design using only the best materials, the folks at Arrow and Board, have managed to create some of our favorite Apple Watch bands since the watches’ inception and they are worthy of your attention too!
Creators Zac and Jacki Brown have built their company around a philosophy we feel is one we can truly get behind as tech. reviewers – when we carry less, we can be more mobile and open to new adventures. What this translates into is a series of products in their lineup that are built to simply but more importantly are built to last and their watch bands are a testament to this.
Their watch bands are Artisan made from premium vegetable tanned, English Bridle leathers that are drum dyed and hot stuffed making for a smooth, flexible yet durable final product. Beautifully crafted with a flawless, even surface while still revealing the outer grain, it is then stitched using the painfully slow saddle stitch method, by hand, however the final product truly is one to marvel at. As a consumer, you come away with a strong, stunning looking genuine leather band that makes any Apple Watch look that much better!
With two different styles available – the porter and triple tour – both come in a variety of shades and colors that are suitable to just about everyone’s taste. The Porter is your more traditional leather watch band, made from a piece of single full grain leather with aluminium or steel hardware to suit the aesthetics of the device. We have had many compliments about the porter, it is simplistic but adds a touch of old school charm to this modern tech that gives it a sense of balance it lacks.
The Triple Tour is an option for directed towards the ladies with its Hermes style wrap around the wrist design motif. Their patented design features an innovative split down the middle allowing the band to be worn three different ways – with both straps surrounding the watch face or stacked with both sides on the left or right of the watch. It is quite stunning and turns the watch into more of a fashion accessory that just works!
With their watch bands costing under $100, this could be the best option for someone looking for a premium band for their Apple Watch. The quality and design alone that Arrow and Board have managed to conjure up here with both offerings is nothing short of amazing and should be on your radar in 2020.
