We all need a little more Zen in our lives and in the chaos of the home or office, that can sometimes be hard to come by. The Buddha Board wants to change all that by inspiring you to live in the moment and clear your mind using their water-based art platform.

Made from all natural and recycled components, the Japanese inspired water tray and stand houses a reusable canvas or art-board for users to gently paint on using nothing more than water and a bamboo brush. It encourages users to be creative and paint a design which slowly fades and the canvas clears reminding users to value the here and now.

The premise behind the board itself is meant to encourage you to master the art of letting go. This philosophy is based on the notion of impermanence and non-attachment as it is a staple of Buddhist thinking. Simply put, it’s important to just be in the moment and to enjoy the process.

To use the board, you place it in a landscape (horizontal) or portrait (vertical) position in the square notches of the tray. The curved notches in front hold your brush and then you fill your tray with ½ inch of water, dip your paintbrush in the water and create!

After using the board over the past month and a half, it has become part of our regular office routine. Every morning, we come in and paint something to our hearts’ content. Being in such a creative environment, it also kicked our creative juices into gear and became a pleasant way to start the morning. We love that it disappears after some time and call us crazy, but we almost felt that as it faded, so did our concerns and worries about that day.
