For the better part of a year, we have tried and tested all the major players in the mesh networking space. Internally, each unit is powered by a Quad Core Arm Cortex A7 processor with 512Mb of RAM which results in excellent performance. This is paired with top of the line 802.11bgn & AC3000 network specifications resulting in a fast 3Gbps throughput. The tri band offering features a 400Mbps 2.4GHz band and an 867Mbps 5GHz band. When you pair several Gryphon units to create a mesh network, the third 1733Mbps 5GHz radio band is additionally used for backhaul duties and therefore does not detract from speed or coverage. Speaking of coverage, each unit is also equipped with 6 high powered antennas as well as 4×4 MU-MIMO technology, device prioritization and networking must Antenna Beamforming. This powerful combination means the Gryphon can provide speedy Wi-Fi up to 3000 Sq. feet. Setting up the Gryphon mesh system was also a breeze with its app based set up process and is on par with the likes of reader favorites Eero in ease of use out of the box.
