It is hard to make a splash in the wireless earphone market when it is dominated by a company that has managed to make a goofy looking music accessory popular. However, from the company that created the world’s first Bluetooth® headset – Jabra – comes a true high-quality alternative to those pesky air pods that we would argue are the better buy if you truly care about the best wireless call and music experience.
The third generation of the Elite 65T brings some welcome refinement to an already great product and it all starts with the unboxing experience. In the retail package you are met with the earphones themselves, a brilliant pocket friendly charging case and even 3 different sets of perfect fit eargels guaranteed to mold to your ear shape. There are no added extras that need to be purchased and they are charged out of the box and ready to go. You simply connect them to your smartphone using Bluetooth 5.0 and you can enjoy an immersive audio experience.
Speaking of Bluetooth, we were pleasantly surprised at how stable the connection was to our iPhone, unlike many other options on the market, since we started reviewing these a month ago, we have not once experienced any call drops or listening interruptions with even our most intensive tasks. In fact, Jabra claims that these have a 33ft range and we would agree that was on par with our testing. We also appreciated the clever IP55 water resistance of the earphones too, meaning you don’t have to worry about sweat, rain or both damaging the sound components which is reassuring for the more active folk out there.
Sound quality too is excellent, thanks in part to its acoustical open chamber 6mm speaker design and its 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range. These earphones are surprisingly well balanced with decent bass, clean mid tones and pitch perfect highs and would suit most music types. Telephonic audio quality too, was very good, the high-performance MEM analog microphones provide a beam-forming directional field, letting in audio from only one direction with active noise cancellation working very well, even in busy subway stations. Audible volume too, is also very good, if not too good!
However, what really makes the Jabra Elite 65T unique and standout in the crowd is the Jabra Sound+ app which allows users to fully customize how they want their audio to sound by having access to an advanced equalizer that can control bass, mid and low frequencies. Better yet, users can choose from different presets based on the sound type for a truly great listening experience. Also, of note, is Jabra’s Hear through technology that allows users to customize how much ambient noise they want to hear when sound is being played with the magical fairy dust on top of this awesomeness – one touch access to your phone’s in-built A.I assistant including Siri, Google and Alexa. These truly do it all.
The Jabra Elite 65T are truly great wireless Bluetooth earphones, they are well made; look and sound great; are stable; offer 10 hours of uninterrupted playback and customizable for each user. There are not many other options out there like these and if their nearly 4000 customer reviews would have you believe, others seem to really enjoy them too. Perhaps we have been buying the wrong earphones all along?
