Victorinox, pioneer of the iconic Swiss Army knife and maker of military-themed timepieces since 1989 has yet again crafted and designed a product that manages to strike the perfect balance between performance and timeless elegance. The Field Force Watch is the only watch we wear on our wrists, and there is a good reason why.
For more than 130 years, Victorinox has created everything from pocket knives, luggage, watches, and even fragrances but one thing has always remained constant – an iconic design that is backed by quality, function, and innovation. Their new Field Force watch is a testament to this philosophy with its rugged yet sophisticated return to a more business casual design motif.

This versatile timepiece is their attempt at a jack-of-all-trades wristwatch for men and is crafted from 316L stainless steel with a 42mm diameter watch face that is protected by a triple-coated anti-reflective sapphire crystal and comes with either stainless steel or genuine leather watchband. On the face of the watch, we find some generously sized hands and numerals complete with Victorinox’s Super-LumiNova® technology that essentially makes the numbers and dials luminous in any type of light, especially welcome in low light situations.

Powering the watch is the ever-reliable Swiss-made quartz movement from Ronda with a welcome steel screw-in case back and all of this is covered by an impressive 5-year warranty. The real icing on the cake is the welcome water resistance up to 100 meters. There is also available a more expensive chronograph version that features a fixed tachymeter-scale bezel, 12-hour and 30-minute chronograph counters, and a small seconds subdial, plus a date window at 6 o’clock if that interests you.

We continue to be impressed by the quality, durability, and design of Victorinox’ watches, it is the reason we continue to wear them. Sure, the Field Force is not as robust as their high-end explosion-proof I.N.O.X timepiece, but the Force is not trying to be that. Where this watch excels is in its ability to be the watch you can wear casually on the weekend or in the boardroom at work and still look classy doing it. It is the watch that you can wear day in and day out on your wrist and trust that it will get the job done.
