Gear Diary – Summer 2018

As Summer break winds up and the kids head back to school, we thought we would share with our readers what products are currently on active rotation in our bags and on our bodies that just happen to also be great. This is our Gear Diary for the Summer of 2018.

Belkin Active Pro Backpack

With the amount of “things” we carry around nowadays, a good and more importantly functional backpack is essential. The Active Pro Backpack from Belkin is a knapsack style carryall that is compact and manages to offer some decent protection for those valuable laptops and tablets with their own individual padded compartment. The bag also features ample storage compartments for all the other necessities like your cellphone, battery packs and cables.

The very comfortable padded back is great for long haul trips and the Durable 600D nylon exterior and welcome water-resistant coating offers some reassurance in all-weather types. We are also big fans of the bags vertical pockets, that allow the user quick access to their most important items without having to unzip the central compartment.

Lastly, the reflective strips accent the bag nicely and for those who commute on two wheels, the bike light loop makes you more visible!

Fronteer Ranger Hi Wilderness Boots

Built to be the swiss army knife of the boot world, the Wilderness boot from Fronteer is a beautiful pairing between a sneaker and combat boot. Inspired by Park Rangers, the Chuck style outer is built from soft twill canvas with a medial zipper closure and triple layer rubber toe cap.

The very comfortable micro-fiber suede sock cover encloses the foot nicely and the molded sockliner and Vibram Mini Ripple Vulcanized sole feels very durable and suitable for everything from city walking to a modest hike, which we love.

The extra colored laces are a nice touch and feel that the Wilderness boot may be one of the most versatile and long withstanding boots currently on the market.

myONE Condoms

When safety is the name of the game, then MyONE has you covered with their customized condom range.

The big selling point of the MyONE is that each prophylactic is made to size instead of a one-size-fits-all approach. You simply use their FitKit, a measuring tape, or use their Fit Finder sizing tool and place your order. The first one is free (to make sure you weren’t giving yourself too much credit) and then you can choose to buy into their subscription model.

With the simple mission of increasing condom use and getting people talking about sexual health, the myONE condom is a great way to protect yourself and those around you.

Malouf Zoned Activedough + Bamboo Charcoal Z pillow

We can’t stress the importance of a good night’s sleep and the team at Malouf want to ensure your happiness is at the front of the equation with their Activedough Z pillow.

The pillow is comprised of their own Activedough technology which provides the superior support of latex, plus the just-right cushion and contouring relief of memory foam for a unique feel that is loved by sleepers of all styles and preferences.

The pillow is infused with activated bamboo charcoal that regulates moisture and odors while you sleep and offers users a naturally hypoallergenic means to control seasonal allergies or asthma.

We are big fans of the design too with its pillow larger holes in the center of the pillow to cradle your head and smaller holes around the perimeter to support your neck which the company explains acts to relieve pressure points in that area.

The silky Tencel cover is a welcome addition and since we started using the Z pillow, we have never slept better!
